Movies Came Out In (1952)<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

The Greatest Show on Earth<\/a><\/strong> \u2013 I just saw recently, and I\u2019m stunned this won.\u00a0 I\u2019m almost stunned this was a movie.\u00a0 It was like a big advertisement for the circus, for people (at the time) that had never seen a circus.\u00a0 It was interesting to see Heston not in a loin clothe and all dirty.\u00a0 Jimmy Stewart was in clown make-up the entire film, which was weird.\u00a0 The plot is: The dramatic lives of trapeze artists, a clown, and an elephant trainer are told against a background of circus spectacle.\u00a0 However, the lives weren\u2019t that interesting and the train crash\/wreck was a farce.\u00a0 I cannot recommend watching this movie, I hated it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<\/a>\"\"\n\n\n\n

High Noon<\/a><\/strong> \u2013\u00a0Saw recently, thought it was a bit corny, but perhaps exciting\/edgy for the film period.\u00a0 Gary Cooper and Grace Kelly are big name stars in it.\u00a0 I\u2019m not sure it held up but given the film\u2019s age, it was pretty good and I\u2019d watch again.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<\/a>\"\"\n\n\n\n

Ivanhoe<\/a><\/strong>\u00a0\u2013\u00a0Saw recently, a knight (Ivanhoe) seeks to put King Richard back on the throne, instead of Prince John.\u00a0 The merry band of fighters in Sherwood Forrest help Ivanhoe in his quest.\u00a0 The plot\/acting are just ok, very much on-par for the film period.\u00a0 It was just \u201cok\u201d and maybe if you were bored this may be entertaining to some degree.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<\/a>\"\"\n\n\n\n

Moulin Rouge<\/a><\/strong> \u2013\u00a0Just watched and this film is absolutely nothing like the 2001 remake, like not at all.\u00a0 The remake should have just picked a different title for it\u2019s name.\u00a0 This film involved telling the fictional life tale of a real artist who was a deformed cripple.\u00a0 The movie was just \u201cok\u201d and not anything that I would rush out to see or recommend.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<\/a>\"\"\n\n\n\n

The Quiet Man<\/a><\/strong> \u2013\u00a0Saw recently, and it was a pretty silly rom-com starring John Wayne.\u00a0 Typical Wayne acting, and the plot was a bit thin to say the least.\u00a0 Wayne\u2019s character is quite the abuser by today\u2019s standards and I didn\u2019t find him very likable at all.\u00a0 He\u2019s an American that travels to his birth home in Ireland, meets Mary Kate and falls in love.\u00a0 Donnybrooks and misunderstandings ensue involving Mary Kate\u2019s brother and Wayne\u2019s character.\u00a0 Again, I thought it was all pretty dumb.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
