Movies Came Out In (1928)<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

Winner:<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<\/a>\"\"\n\n\n\n

Wings<\/a><\/strong> \u2013 The first silent picture that I\u2019ve ever watched.\u00a0 Considering that it\u2019s almost 100 years old, it really wasn\u2019t that bad.\u00a0 It was basically a propaganda film post WW1 and I can understand why audiences liked it.\u00a0 It was entertaining enough, a bit long at 2.5 hours, but the plot was pretty typical by today\u2019s standards (and not very different from films like Pearl Harbor, 2 boys fighting over the same girl go off to war, etc\u2026).\u00a0 All in all, not a bad film especially given its age.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<\/a>\"\"\n\n\n\n

7th Heaven<\/a><\/strong> \u2013\u00a0This is the second silent picture that I\u2019ve ever watched (see above). The plot is pretty simple, boy saves girl from the streets of Paris, slowly fall in love, war takes him away, thought to be dead, turns out not to be.\u00a0 I do find it hard to watch a movie with no dialog for almost 2 hours.\u00a0 The plot was just \u201cok\u201d, at times incredibly corny, but given the time period, such seems to be the norm.\u00a0 I wouldn\u2019t rush out to see this film, unless old silent films is your thing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<\/a>\"\"\n\n\n\n

The Racket<\/a><\/strong>\u00a0\u2013\u00a0This is the third silent picture that I\u2019ve ever watched (see previous 2 above).\u00a0 A simple story of an honest cop trying to take down a powerful gangster who also has corrupt officials and politicians on his side as well.\u00a0 The music and the way the silent film story is told basically epitomizes everything that my modern day brain views \u201csilent films\u201d.\u00a0 It\u2019s very \u201cKeystone Cop-ish\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
