Movies Came Out In (2017)<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

The Shape Of Water<\/a><\/strong> \u2013 Every review that I saw about this movie (around Oscar time) said that usually people either loved it or hated it, no in-between.\u00a0 And to be honest, I didn\u2019t read any synopsis of the movie, so I went in somewhat \u201cblind\u201d.\u00a0 I actually liked it, I didn\u2019t love\/hate it.\u00a0 It was pretty interesting in the story line, the scenery, and the way it was filmed (looked like an attraction at a Universal theme park, in my opinion).\u00a0 It was quirky and weird for sure, but it definitely wasn\u2019t boring or ordinary.\u00a0 Give it a chance, if you hate it, oh well.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<\/a>\"\"\n\n\n\n

Call Me by Your Name<\/a><\/strong> \u2013\u00a0This was an interesting film.\u00a0 I had no idea what to expect, and I certainly was a little shocked.\u00a0 I wasn\u2019t put off by the subject matter, but honestly, I didn\u2019t find it very compelling either.\u00a0 I could take it or leave it.\u00a0 I saw that they\u2019re doing a sequel, so I\u2019ll be curious as to what happens in that film.\u00a0 It did seem a little strange that the man was clearly so much older than the teenage boy and the parents seemingly had no issue with that, but to each his own I suppose.\u00a0 And is Michael Stuhlbarg in literally every movie these days, guys in everything it seems!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<\/a>\"\"\n\n\n\n

The Darkest Hour<\/a>\u00a0\u2013\u00a0<\/strong>I enjoyed this film.\u00a0 Very interesting to see the portrayal of Churchill by Oldman, as compared to other Churchills in other series (i.e. The Crown).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<\/a>\"\"\n\n\n\n

Dunkirk<\/a><\/strong> \u2013\u00a0Saw this in the theater, and really enjoyed it.\u00a0 Had the luck of reading a review which explained Dunkirk before I saw the film, which helped me understand it better.\u00a0 Watched it on DVD, and really enjoyed it more because I had seen a few documentaries on Dunkirk in between my initial viewing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<\/a>\"\"\n\n\n\n

Get Out<\/a><\/strong><\/strong> \u2013\u00a0A suspenseful thriller that I rather enjoyed, if not a tiny bit predictable.\u00a0 Totally worth watching.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<\/a>\"\"\n\n\n\n

<\/a>Lady Bird<\/a><\/strong><\/strong> \u2013\u00a0A very enjoyable film.\u00a0 I honestly had no idea what to expect (I thought it was maybe about LBJ\u2019s wife [it was not], no joke).\u00a0 I really liked it.\u00a0 It reminded me of films like Breakfast Club, Garden State, and a show like \u201cMy So Called Life\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<\/a>\"\"\n\n\n\n

<\/a>Phantom Thread<\/a><\/strong><\/strong> \u2013\u00a0What a snooze fest.\u00a0 I found unbearably boring.\u00a0 A dress maker, who\u2019s a complete jerk, falls \u201cin love\u201d with a younger woman.\u00a0 I could barely make it through this movie, I would not recommend watching it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<\/a>\"\"\n\n\n\n

<\/a>The Post<\/a><\/strong><\/strong> \u2013\u00a0This movie was slow moving, didn\u2019t pick up until the final 30 minutes or so.\u00a0 My daughter was bored to tears.\u00a0 I don\u2019t know how anyone would know what was going on unless you were familiar with the historical players (McNamara, Nixon, Kissinger, etc\u2026) before watching the movie.\u00a0 The acting was fine (Hanks\/Streep), but honestly it was too much of a bore for me.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<\/a>\"\"\n\n\n\n

<\/a>Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri<\/a><\/strong><\/strong> \u2013\u00a0Really enjoyed this film.\u00a0 Very interesting plot and some great acting performances.\u00a0 The language is not for the faint of heart, but it doesn\u2019t bother me.\u00a0 I highly recommend watching this movie.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

<\/a>Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri<\/a><\/strong><\/strong>, followed closely by Dunkirk<\/a><\/strong>.\u00a0 Both were unique and enjoyable, but I give the edge slightly to Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri<\/a><\/strong><\/strong>.<\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n
